Jacqueline, hailing from East Germany, reflects on her extensive career path, spanning across diverse industries. Commencing her journey in 1994 as an apprentice at an architecture firm in Weimar, Germany, she acquired foundational knowledge, working as an architectural assistant. Embracing the German dual-educational system, which integrates practical training on-site, she pursued trade courses in bricklaying, plastering, and carpentry. Inspired by her hands-on experience, Jacqueline opted to study architecture at the practice-oriented University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany, in 2000.
In tandem with her academic pursuits, Jacqueline garnered practical insights by working in various architecture practices, contributing to projects in both public and private sectors. Notably, she served as an Architectural Technician for a Hamburg-based firm specialising in spas and leisure developments, enriching her expertise in attraction and entertainment architecture.
Simultaneously, Jacqueline pursued her passion for motorcycle racing, traversing Europe and participating in competitions, which honed her problem-solving skills and kindled an interest in mobile architecture. Her adeptness caught the attention of Daimler Trucks, where she embarked on an internship, focusing on interior concepts for commercial vehicles, for her diploma thesis. Demonstrating the significance of mobile habitats in architecture's future, she excelled in her studies, earning a Master's degree in Architecture from Hafen City University in Hamburg in 2006.
Following her studies, Jacqueline expanded her horizons beyond the construction industry, assuming the role of Product Development Engineer at a company specialising in acoustic products and complex plastic applications. Here, she led a project for interior trim walls, managing the entire program with aplomb, leading to approval for design requirement changes and product incorporation into prototype mock-ups, subsequently undergoing tests in Scandinavia.
A change in personal circumstances led Jacqueline to Singapore in the summer of 2008, where she embraced a new opportunity at a start-up firm, focusing on designing and project managing pop-up hospitality architecture. Overcoming challenges swiftly, she spearheaded the realisation of a mobile luxury container bar within three months, from concept design to completion.
In 2010, Jacqueline was sought after by a German company specialising in window, door, and curtain wall technology, tasked with consulting architects and expanding the project business. Excelling in her role, she established a Singaporean subsidiary, expanded business across Southeast Asia, and built a high-performing team, surpassing all expectations.
Returning to Europe in the end of 2012, Jacqueline embarked on a new chapter, settling in the UK. Embracing motherhood, she took a career break, utilising the time to renovate her family home and impart her German heritage to her child. Engaging in volunteer projects, Jacqueline kept her skills sharp.
In 2019 Jacqueline pursued a role as Senior Interior Architect within the maritime industry helping to shape the newbuild interior design of the Cruise Ship Arvia.
Overcoming the challenges of the pandemic Jacqueline then worked on the return to service tasks helping the company to find solutions to provide the new safety measures for their guests.
With design work being limited in the cruise ship industry Jacqueline went back to the property business and pursued a positon as Property & Development Manager for a large operator in the marina leisure industy. Managing the property portfolio of 18 marinas with approx. 500 properties she collaborated with internal teams and external consultants and contractors. Working on day-to-day challenges as well as on refurshiment projects and new development opportunities she helped to raise the standard of the existing portfolio and provided improvement strategies that will serve the business on a long term basis.
She has also been working on a residential property extension project that is soon coming to an end.
With this in mind Jacqueline is now open for new challenges.
